Caden Goes To The Dr...

I mentioned in a previous post that Caden's Pedi. was concerned with his slow weight gain. Well we went to the follow up last Wed. I knew that there was going to be a collection of labs that day but did not tell him. He is a nervous kid, he would have been uneasy all day had he known. They weighed him and he gained a whopping 12 ounces in 2 weeks. I had meticulously noted everything that entered his belly for 2 weeks and gave the dr. the chart. She did a quick exam and sent us to the hospital for the dreaded lab draws!! Poor Caden was oblivious to what lay ahead. It wasn't until we were in the actual lab and he saw all the instruments that he freaked out. We waited forever...seriously like an hour...to get this done. I had to hold his little arm still while he screamed. It just broke my heart. Good thing the kid has good veins or they would have had to stick him more than once. It was over quickly and we were both relieved. The Dr. called with the first batch of results yesterday and everything was normal thank God, we're just waiting for the results of the celiac, IBD, and some other gastrointestinal disorder tests.
