Ok well I'm making a couple of posts instead of one big long one.
First off, I went for my PET scan follow up on Thursday, in my last post I said biopsy follow up but I already did that, this was a follow up to my PET scan. Just to recap, after my biopsy the Dr was puzzled as to why my liver was was covered in these spots, so I went in for a PET scan to make sure there was no cancer in any other part of my body causing these tumor to appear.
My mom and dad went with me, and all 3 kids, sounds crazy huh? Well they were almost angels! Very well behaved on this day. Thank God cause once I signed in, and sat down a receptionist comes out and says that Dr. Ramirez was running 1 1/2 hours behind!! The waiting room is huge, so it was comfy for all of us, and it was loud too so my kids crazy little chatter wasn't too noticeable.
So I got there 2:45, my appt was at 3, and I actually got into the exam room at 4:45 or so..yeah that sucks. My mom gave the male nurse a piece of her mind about that. I kept the kids busy with crayons, paper, snacks, juice boxes, books, and Caden's DS. I came prepared!! That was kind of exhausting in and of itself though.
Well I went back there, and all she did was reiterate what was said at the appointment before my biopsy. I have Focal Nodular Hyperplasia, which is basically benign tumors on the liver. They weren't really sure that it was in fact FNH because of the amount of tumors, they didn't count but there are lots of small ones all over the liver. Sometimes they are attributed to birth control pills, and stopping the pill may "shrink" them, but I haven't been on the pill in over a year, AND I only took the pill for maybe 2-3 years total...on and off. So I highly doubt that has anything to do with it. I was told to never ever take bc pills again...good thing Bry's been sliced and diced cause together we are the super fertile couple.
Ugh... I also asked if losing weight would be beneficial, she said it's a possibility. So it can't hurt to try. I'm still carrying around baby weight from all 3 really, never really got down to pre-Caden weight and that's where I want to be. Like I said before, 3 kids 5 years, it all takes a huge toll on your body. And especially someone with my shitty metabolism....damn genetics. Yeah..that's going to be fun times. You'll hear pleeeenty more about that, lots of blogging to do on that subject.
So that was it. I just need to keep up on it. Probably yearly scans to make sure that they're not growing. It's a relief to finally be nearly done with what I've called my Liver Drama. Just a HUGE load off my back. I also have to go in for some other procedures, but I have yet to schedule them cause I'm a chicken. Those procedures will now get me a definitive diagnosis on my tummy troubles and get it under control...finally!! It's funny, the tummy troubles I am talking about is why I walked into my first gastroenterologist's office (Dr. Coleman) in the first place... over 2 years ago. Instead of getting that taken care of I get thrown into this whole Liver Drama that took forever to play out. It was all put on hold while I baked my little Rylen. I'm just very very glad to be putting it all to rest soon, and I feel blessed that it very well could have been something very serious, but with the grace of God I was spared.

Well, I'm glad there's nothing that needs to be done and that they'll just keep an eye on things to make sure it stays that way. Hugs, sweetie.
