Mom's Night In-CANCELLED!

Bryan left to Houston this morning. He was working at an oil refinery all this week. At first I was bummed. The kids get all sad, Caden cries every time Bryan has to leave for work trips. So we prepared him yesterday. It's just so sad, it makes me sad-he loves his daddy. After lunch I sit down to watch the news at noon and see that there is a tropical storm on the way headed for the Houston area. I thought no big deal, he'll just catch a flight home later this week if things get crazy. Then I see this story and I get worried cause that's where he's supposed to be. So I called him, no answer. I get on with my day. Kids are bouncing off the walls and I plan a nice quiet night after they go to bed. I'll sit down with some popcorn or something and catch a chick flick on pay per view, it will be nice to be alone. I keep calling Bry and I get no answer.
After dinner the doorbell rings. I'm thinking maybe it's my sister and her kiddos. Wrong. It's Bryan. Turns out he woke up at 4 to catch a 6:45 am flight. He got there, and his work buddy called to tell him about all the crap going down at the refinery. So he shows up there, waits to see if things will settle down so he can get down to business. They go to lunch, come back and then they tell him they need to leave cause they're in storm mode. So he catches a 5:30 flight and comes home. Good for the kids, but I had plans to be alone. As a mom of 3 alone time is hard to come by. Oh well. So he was exhausted from the day of flying, driving, flying, and more driving. Poor guy. It sure would have been nice to have the bed all to myself though.
