Ebay Makes Me Lose My Mind...

Ahhh!! I've been getting Brityn's clothes together to ebay for a week now, and I'm so over it. It's a long process for me to do it. I've been ebaying the kids clothes since Caden was about a year, that was when I realized that I cannot save all his cute little things, though I would love to. I usually make the most money on Brityn's stuff since there's always lots cute Gymboree stuff. I then use that money to buy them new clothes. I buy good clothing for them cause I can always make money ebaying it when their done. It's just my way of justifying spending $$ on their clothes.
It always makes me so sad to have to get rid of their stuff. I remember the times they wore the outfit and how cute they looked in it...seriously it's a depressing time for me. I always save one good item of clothing from their year like the shirt they wore for their birthday or in this case Brityn's Easter dress from last year.
I haven't yet had to do this for Rylen. His stuff is still safely stored in plastic totes until Mommy is mentally ready to get rid of her very last baby's newborn clothing. That will be a very sad day.

So here are my unsolicited ebaying tips:

*March is the time to start selling spring/summer clothing, August is a good time to sell fall stuff and back to school items, and October is time to start selling winter items.
*Get your items together, look them over, and begin writing descriptions. Be very detailed, if the shirt has a teeny ink mark but is in otherwise great condition...let the buyer know. Decribe each item in detail.
*Condition abbreviations LN-Like New (item shows very little to no signs of wear, maybe washed and never worn), NWT-New With Tags (self explanatory), NWOT- New Without Tags (again..duh), EUC- Excellent Used Condition (shows normal wear no stains, fading...etc), GUC- Good Used Condition (shows a little more wear, fading), PLAY- (shows lots of signs of wear, perhaps some light stains, but otherwise still wearable for kids to play and get dirty in)
*Iron items before taking pictures (I know it's not a fun task) it doesn't have to be really neatly pressed you just don't want it to look like it just came out of a box.
*Take good pictures, natural light looks better but of course if you only have time to do this at night when the kids are in bed then whatever.
*When you're taking pics match up the items in outfits instead of putting them in one big group. The more pics the better.
*You can use a auction hosting site like Sellers Sourcebook, you have to pay but you get to use all the pics you want, and also work on your listing slowly like I have this past week. You can also use their template which make your auction look awesome!!
*Make sure you know the fees. Ebay changes it from time to time (probably to confuse us so we end up paying more without knowing it)
*Take the fees into account when determining your reserve or buy it now price.
*Low starting bids attract more bidders. I usually start at like $.o1 or $1.00 and set a reserve price. It adds to the listing fee but it's better than starting an auction and ending up selling lots of good clothes for like $15.
*Research which brands sell well. We know Gymboree does, as well as boutique brands. Baby Gap, The Children's Place, Janie and Jack...I'm sure there's lots more.
*Always research similar auctions to see if your items is even worth selling and to get an idea of what to price it at.

WHEW- I think that's all If I can remember anything else I'll add it....you see why I am ebayed out?? Lots of stuff to remember, but it's worth it. I can make anywhere from $100-200 on a big lot of stuff.
